S/S 2011 Trend Careerwear--Michelle Obama Inspired

30 May 2011
Good morning again chicklets,

Like I said before I decided to put together a board inspired by one of Michelle Obama's outfits.

I have come up with a new and improved format for my blog and how I will post every day because what I want is to empower my readers to be the best they can be and always be dressed for success in any circumstance. I am all about empowerment. This makes this blog a bit different from the other beauty and fashion blogs and I like it that way. In fact it is more of a lifestyle blog because I will also be talking about travel, health and skin care. My goal is to drag you all kicking and screaming fashionably into the 21st century and hope that you enjoy the ride. Now mind you, you all have your own personal style and I will be presenting what is currently on trend and you decide how to incorporate it into your style. I hope that what I put together will inspire you and bring you back daily to read or see what I have put together.

At the moment I have gained weight but once I get the weight off and start shopping again I will be taking pics of my outfits for you to see. This week I will also begin doing makeup tutorials and I will go back over a few of the posts to recreate the looks that I put together. Those will go up on my Youtube page so be on the look out for that. So without further ado, here is today's Michelle O inspired ensemble. I love how she uses cardigans in place of suit jackets to update the office look. Have a great and happy holiday.

Beauty of the Week--Michelle Obama

Happy Memorial Day Chicklets for all of you in the States.

Seeing that I myself am a disabled vet and the first female in my family to ever serve in the military today is a special day to me. My grandfather and my great uncle both fought in wars and are vets. My maternal Uncle and paternal uncles all served in the military as well.  I am very proud to e ex-Navy and the only Navy person in my family. The rest of my family members were in the Army and Marines. So make sure you guys get out there barbecue or whatever it is that you do on this day.

So today I am bringing you my favorite beauty of the week and inspiration in fact because she is an amazing inspiration, Michelle Obama or as I like to refer to her Michelle O. Not only is this woman stylish she also has killer arms that every woman in America envies. I still need to find her routine, seriously. I picked Michelle Obama because here in America some of the journalists, especially those on Fox are always saying how unattractive she is, when in fact she is a beautiful woman, who knows how to dress--she is the most stylish First Lady we have had since Jackie O, is equally as powerful and smart as her husband, poised, classy and lovable. The children that she encounter absolutely love her and my gosh I wish I were as tall as she is.

She is one of my daily inspiration and love seeing what she will wear at State dinners. Of course my favorite is when she wore that red Alexander McQueen dress. I nearly killed over. So be inspired and I am putting together a career inspiration board inspired by one of her outfits that I will post shortly.

Off The Runway 2011--Night at the Museum Tuxedo Jacket

29 May 2011
Its a good day chicklets and I struggled to decide which look I would do today for you guys. I had so much to choose from but I decided on the Night at the Museum. Why? You ask. Because it is the season where people go to cocktail parties, gallery openings etc and most want to know what is appropriate for these events.

I put together this board for those chic chicks who are social butterflies to give you some ideas on what is stylish for such an event. I also threw in another chic trend just to make you stand out in a good way--yellow shoes. I also included ballerina flats because one of my readers said they do not and cannot wear heels so for now on I will include beautiful flat ware--not eating utensils but shoes--in all of my boards. Enjoy and I hope you are inspired this Sunday.

1. Asos Tailored Contrast Lapels Cropped Tux Jacket
2. Frederick's Sexy Shaper
