So imagine my happiness when I stumbled upon Cyprian Blogger Fashionable Rose's website and found that she designs hand woven accessories. There are handbags, scarves, brooches, earrings and shoes....

I love her product line immensely and I look forward to buying something from it in the future. They are fresh, organic and above all fashionable.

Change is good

Good morning chicklets,

I am excited about the change that will take place for L&L this year and now I am able to announce some of them.

This year is kicking off to an amazing start. There have been some ups and downs in this last month but honestly it has been amazingly satisfying.

One of the biggest things changing at L&L is now I have two contributing writers, possibly four. I will know about the latter soon and I will let you know. But being that I am so busy with my coffee business I have not had the time to truly dedicate to L&L and she is my ultimate baby. So, some amazing women have stepped in to help.

The first being world class Makeup Artist, hailing from Singapore, Lydia L.

Lydia has dedicated close to 8 years to her craft and has been a part of many projects. She will be a  Contributing Beauty Editor/Writer and she will be keeping you abreast of the trends in makeup and beauty.

The second contributor is, Porsché J. Porsche has been in the beauty industry for the last 10+ years and loves all things beauty.

She is L&L's Contributing Women of Color Beauty Writer and Editor and will be contributing posts on challenges that affect women of color.

There will be a bio page for each of these ladies up by the end of the week.

I have also been working on a logo mock-up and I am looking forward to having it professionally rendered.

Good morning Chicklets!

But today's trend is a two parter. The first part is nail art trends this season. Seeing that we are going back to more nude and pastel-ly colors for nails in the spring they have found a way to jazz it up through art.

"Follow your feelings, use the Force"

Hello Chicklets! Today, L and L hit over 100,000 views and she has only been around 10 months! I am so excited.

There will be some revamping of the blog and the L and L brand in the next couple of months, for which I cannot divulge the details but be ready because we are about to get bigger and better.

I want to thank you all who follow me and leave periodic comments on the blog. I am hoping that soon, the site will be more interactive for you.

I will be also chronicling my weight-loss on the blog. I have recently gain about 15 lbs due to poor eating choices and laziness. So I am on a mission to get back to my fabulous size 8 and I am planning to have you all tag along. I am looking to lose the bulk of the weight before my 36th birthday and L and L's 1st anniversary in April.

A shopping day in a Sicilian Market

The one thing I love about Sicily were their markets (mercati). On Saturdays many people made their rounds by going to the fish market in Catania, food markets or clothing markets. These markets were brought to Sicily by the Northern African Moors over a thousand years ago and there, they still remain, a staple in Sicilian culture.

 

 

Another fun thing to do in Sicily on Saturday is go to Enna, the Sicilian gold capital. There is a particular street that is lined with nothing but gold shops sporting the finest gold that the eye can behold. Not to mention fashion stores.

 The other thing I love about Sicily is how fashionable the women are. It did not matter if they were going shopping in the fish market or at the gold shops they always dressed above par. Their style is always classic. I received a lot of my fashion sense from my time in Sicily and cannot wait to return some day.
