That 70s Show

02 February 2011
I finally received the bulk of the pictures from last weeks 70s inspired photo shoot. It was a blast to work with the beautiful Linda Mou, Giulia Fava and Veronica Rubini. Andrea the photographer is the man. We got some really good shots and here they are. The girls brought their own clothes that resembled 70s fashion to them. I am hoping to become acquainted with a few shop owners while I am here so that I can actually style the shoots in the future--you know actually use that degree in Fashion Merchandising-- but for now we will work with what we have.

For Linda, my inspiration was Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls from the Hush Hush video. Although I used a lot of gold on the lid it did not really show up in the photos so next time I know to use a brighter almost silvery gold to make it pop #liveandlearn

For Giulia my inspiration was Bo Derek. Bo always sported a brown smokey eye and braids. The brown enhanced her blue eyes as brown always does. Filippo and I styled Giulia's hair like Diana Ross because her hair is naturally curly and beautiful. That itself took a full hour to do--cuz I am still learning how to do hair--that girl has a lot of hair, my goodness. Thanks Filippo! :D

Veronica was the third and final model. My inspiration for her was Debbie Harry from Blondie. We did a turquoise smokey eye and hot pink lip like the look below. This look was on the cusp of the 80s probably between 78-80. Debbie Harry was probably the only starlet who wore bright makeup in the 70s but we love her anyways.
