The air is crisp and the leaves are bursting colors of rust, goldenrod and brown signifying that Autumn is here and just as the physical seasons have changed, fashion has also transitioned into another season.
Usually Autumn fashion is riddled with dark somber colors, heavy fabrics and crisps lines but this season we are bringing in deeper hued brights and beautiful jewel tones to spice it up a bit.
And as they always say, nothing every goes out of style it always returns even better. This A/W 2011 we are seeing a nod toward 70s urban style, Studio 54 and Bohemian Chic.
70s Urban Chic was a response to Woodstock, rock 'n' roll and freedom movements all over the world. It saw the creation of bell bottom jeans, pussybow blouses and velvety blazers along with stunning platform wedge heels, thank you Ferragamo.
Studio 54 made its mark in the late 70s and was all about extravagance; fur wraps and coats, mini skirts, floor length chiffon dresses a la the 1930s and sequins.
And lastly, bohemian chic aka Hippie chic, has never truly gone out of style, it usually pops in summer fashion but this year the fashion industry has figured out a way to incorporate it into the cooler months ahead.
Whatever your style is, there is a movement for you this fall. You can go from day time casual to night time fun just by adding a cropped blazer and smokey eye or red lip.
Fall is the season to make it sexy by covering it up and leaving almost everything to the imagination.
I was a young girl during the 70's and you are so right; the styles were from one extreme to the other. I mean one day I was a disco queen, the next a flower bohemian and them a want-to- be punk rocker!
