No matter what you think of Jay Z and believe me I have thought nothing of him of late, you must acknowledge he has mad media skills. His new video Picasso Baby brings hip hop and art together in the same room. I have felt for a while that hip hop needs to return to its roots. Back to the days of Slick Rick, Doug E Fresh, and the Sugar Hill Gang. Back when it actually was an art, when the lyrics meant something. Maybe, just maybe, Jay with all of his money is starting to understand that, yes, make money of your art, but don't allow money to be the driving force behind your art. Show the world, that hiphopsters are just as intelligent as scholars.
