Cosmoprof 2011, Bologna Italy, Klarissa Wayne

30 March 2011
Here is the second batch of photos from Cosmoprof 2011 in Bologna. My model Klarissa was supposed to look something like a geisha. I had to make her foundation 3 shades lighter than she was--because I was told I would only be doing natural looks so I did not bring my Mac Paint Sticks--but you know me I can make it work.  I did a blue smokey eye, bright pink cheek and bright red lipstick. I did not take the brief literally so I did a more modern version of a geisha. More like Harajuku meets Geisha...Enjoy..

Spring Trend 2011-- Bright Whites

When I finally woke up this morning I heard birds chirping outside my balcony. I decided to open the doors and the shutters and lo and behold the sun was shining brightly. The air was fresh and knew that it was Spring! Spring is my second favorite season of the year--due to allergies--but also I am spring baby. My birthday is 8 days from now. But I also love spring in fashion. Spring brings bright colors, flirty silhouettes, carefree sandals.. Its just FUN!!

A classic spring trend is bright white. There is something new, pure and refreshing about the color white. When you see it--besides having anxiety about keeping it clean--it makes you smile, unless of course it is in a sterile hospital. But white brings fond memories of line hung linens and a sense of newness.

Below is a board I put together of the current trend and silhouettes along with a makeup board to go with it that is suitable for all skin tones. Enjoy and be inspired!

1. White one shoulder panel dress, Top Shop USA
2. Liana Wedge Sandal, Rock & Republic
3. Ralph Lauren Zip Top Tote, My Theresa
4. Big Hair Big Nails (Texas Collection), OPI

Betsey Johnson Pink Flower Ring

Wooden Bangles with Gold accents, Top Shop

Combining a bright white with a smokey eye takes white from being virginal and clinical to being edgy.
