Aww yes! It’s Fall and I am all gobsmacked over the fabulous beauty trends coming over the wire. There were so many to choose from, but keeping you fabulous women in mind I chose these six trends.

1. Cobalt Blu

Blue is great but cobalt gives it pizzazz! And I do mean PIZZAZZ!! Want to give your face a shock, add some cobalt liner to the bottom lash line or a cobalt shadow to your lid and smoke it out with a black or navy blue. And if you really want to go the distance, paint those lovely lashes with cobalt mascara!

3. Smut-Smoky Brown

I don’t care what anyone says, being smutty is sexy and smoky brown eyes is just as fab as black smoky, I would venture to say that it is even classier. This look you can war during the day without looking overdone. To make the brown smoky on dark skin add black eyeshadow or eyeliner to the lid near the lash line. Blend and smear mid way up the lid. Add loads of mascara. Also use the black liner to line the lower lash water line. Et voîla, magic!

A Few Things that Rocked My World This Week

It is Fall, my favorite season..period. I have been off for the last five days celebrating Chuseok, well at least the nationals have. I have just been enjoying some time away from the screaming kiddies.

So far my time here has had its ups and downs, most of it is because of the long hours I work. The ups are solely because S. Korea is a beautiful country, the kids are bloody adorable AND I am finally getting Lattes and Lipstick up and running.

Last Thursday before going on vacation, we had a Chuseok festival at my school and my Korean co-teacher and kiddies got all garbed up in the traditional Korean clothes.

The weekend before I had to go to Seoul for a teacher’s conference and I got to wear my new brogues. I was so ecstatic. I also had a good laugh over my students’ papers’ misspellings and hilarious interpretative drawings of me.

Tuesday, I went to the market to find fabric to begin the L&L brand projects that I have been dreaming of the last few months. I picked out some great colors. I promise to let you see what I am doing once I get started. The striped fabric will be a mini-skirt for the spring/summer.

Anyhoo, the last two weeks have really rocked my world and I have been enjoying life. Of course with Fall, comes my insatiable love of Jazzy ballads and hot cocoa. So enjoy.

Fall 2012- Statement Pieces

Well it is officially Fall. My favorite season, although I am a Spring baby. I look forward to leaves changes there color and the air getting cooler. The smell of cinnamon and pie baking.

My favorite part of Fall is fashion. Fall fashion is the best. Not to cold for heavy coats, but cowl neck sweaters, cardigans, skirts and jackets never go out of style. This season isn’t any different. Bright jewel tones, winter white, silver, gold, wine, navy, and black are all the rage!

The nod toward the 1920s and 40s are here and I must admit I am excited. Mixing prints, long maxi skirts, dyed faux leather and a little bit of edge are things to look forward to. My favorite trend is statement pieces. It’s go gaudy or go home. It’s pieces that scream look at me!

I have put together a few looks for you all, based on the Statement Pieces Trend. Next week I have a few more post based on the fall trends along with the continuation of the dress for your skin tone series. Hopefully, you can take some of the looks and cater them to your own taste.

This look is one of my favorites. I absolutely love long sweeping maxi-skirts. The print of the galaxy on the fabric makes it even more enchanting. I toned down the color by using a gray cowl neck sweater and mimic the colors in the ensemble in the accessories. This outfit is great for work and play and it whispers, “I twinkle, look at me.”

Entrepreneur Helen Douka, Art Nouveau

My name is Helen Douka , I am from Greece and I have been involved professionally for many years with designing and manufacturing exclusive iron furniture. Lately I
have been concentrating on the industrial style which is my favorite.

However, through my blog which was
established in 2010, I had the chance to meet a lot of people from all over the world.

Because of this, my blog turned into a very interesting
occupation. As you all know, the last few years
Greece has been under recession. As a result, I focused on
my blog and I eventually decided to create an online magazine.

Besides, when a country is in a financial crisis, I feel that is when we
must be our most creative and produce brand new ideas.
It is my new baby and I am thrilled to be working on it!
So trying to combine the two projects , most often
is quite tiring but it is a sweet tiredness i confess..

About Maria: What inspired me to get involved in the jewellery business is the great cultural background of silversmiths of the area. The whole city of Ioannina has a characteristic, artistic atmosphere that derives from this long history. I feel strongly that this significant tradition of processing silver in the small town of Ioannina needs to be preserved and enhanced, which is my first motive apart from delivering unique, sophisticated jewellery.

About STA: SilverTownArt consists of a team of jewellery designers living and working in Ioannina, a romantic lakeside town in north-western Greece. The town and the surrounding villages are steeped in a long tradition of silversmiths and have produced renowned designers, such as Sotirio Bulgari, the founder of the Bulgari House, over the last two centuries.

The pieces of SilverTownArt designers are exclusively made by hand, making use of the highest quality materials and fuse traditional and contemporary techniques, ancient and modern forms, in unique jewellery collections that regularly appear in international exhibitions, such as the London Jewellery Week.

Entrepreneurial Women: Sadie Founder of Shh Sadie Jewelry

Sadie, a self professed sparkle addict, beadaholic and serial over accessorizer is the founder and designer for Shh Sadie Jewelry.

This Welsh transplant to the isle of New Zealand began her foray into jewellery making in 2011 when she found herself looking for an evening occupation when her boyfriend traveled overseas for work.

Instead of popping to her mum’s house for a cup of tea as she would normally do, she filled her time by teaching herself how to make jewellery. Since then her small apartment has become increasingly stuffed with boxes of beads and chains, much to her boyfriend’s delight. (Well it serves him right!)

‘By day’ she works in online communications, so she really enjoys her downtime surrounded by pretty, sparkly trinkets. She uses a lot of vintage and salvaged materials, often dragging her parents from shop to shop when she’s back in the UK, hunting for treasures.

She loves fashion and find it exciting to adapt current trends with her own little twist - whether it be adding vintage beads or a hand drawn pendant. She also loves the thrill of owning one of a kind pieces and like to share that with her customers - they can be confident that a selection of her pieces will never be worn by anyone else.

She has been amazed by the reception her jewellery keeps receiving. In just over a year of ‘business’ her jewellery has been featured in Wellington Fashion Week, a fashion spread in a glossy magazine and a national advertising campaign. It has also been worn by several international ‘Kiwi’ artists and performers, as well as fashion bloggers from around the world.
