On Trend Spring 2011--French Nautical

15 March 2011

The french nautical trend is a classic year rounder that never gets old and is always chic. Dungarees--dark washed wide-legged jeans-- horizontal striped shirt (black/white, red/white, or navy/white striped) cuban fedora or beret, black eyeliner and red lips and you got yourself a default look that is always on trend.

The Parisian smokey eye or rocker's smokey eye has been on trend since 2007 in Paris and is still gaining traction like red lips. The Parisian smokey eye is created by drawing a thick line with a black eyeliner and smudging it to the crease and then blending the edges in the crease using a prime color. Use a dark color--green, purple, gray, or navy blue-- on the bottom lash line and mascara and voilà a quick easy look for day or night and it is very edgy as well.

On my board, I have decided to use complementary, Italian/Mexican flags and Christmas colors, red and green.  By using varying shades of red or green in your color palette you can avoid looking like a Christmas ornament.

I have decided to forego the tutorial, I tried making one and it was an utter disaster, I have to get use to doing everything backwards and once I do I can truly make a tutorial for you guys. Give me a few weeks and I promise one will be up. But until then, enjoy the capture screen of my Parisian smokey eye, green eye liner, red lip and growing afro!

A demain! :D
