My favorite book by F. Scott Fitzgerald--and one that I will be reading again this summer-- is coming to the big screen again 38 years after the first adaptation in 1974 starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. This time Baz Luhrmann, fame director known for Moulin Rouge, Australia, and Romeo + Juliet has recreated this film starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Carey Mulligan.
This new film releasing December 2012, will surely be a showstopper. Not just because of its creative direction but its fashion. Giving a nod towards a time of liberation, decadence and just plain revelry.
This time period is one of my favorite when it concerns fashion, art and music. And I am excited that the flapper fashion is returning with a major modern twist. From menswear such as tuxedo pants, vests and bow ties, to flapper inspired dresses, tassel jewelry and embellished hair accessories to wine stained lips and dark silvery smoky eyes. And let's not talk shoes: t-straps, Mary Janes and brogues. This summer will be all about the glam. So get Gatsby-ed up for summer with these fashionable pieces.

I hope you are all doing well. There have been so many things these days on the net that have been inspiring me for this summer. Some things I doubt I'd be able to ever find--so I have to make them myself--some things I will own, see, listen to or read and some things are just plain better to lust after.
I hope you enjoy my list:
Bedazzled heels.. No one could do without glitter this summer. It goes with everything :-)
Shoes!!
Sexy, strappy and fly: I have no idea who created these shoes, but they are drool worthy.
Disco / {this is glamorous}: {inspiration board}
So chic and retro: In a way that only Chanel could do it!
So hip and stylish: White brogues are a must..
Oxford
I believe I could fly: or at least appear to, with these Wing clip earrings by Asos
ASOS jewelry
I abhor blocks of any kind, i.e. road-blocks, mental blocks, writer's blocks, except of course Color-Blocking:
Sandals
Everyone deserves a little bit of sunshine in their lives and the best way to do that is wearing my must have color of the year: Lemon
Linen Side Button Wl
GO Big or go home is the Texas motto and you can definitely do that with this Floppy Hat
Hat
Caps can be good especially at the end of a shoe, just fabulous!
Vince Camuto pumps
Going to the Beach, or at least looking like I am with a sassy beach bag..
Tote bag
Glittery and Ostentatious clutch bags, did I mention silver?
H M clutch
Mary Jane, and not the kind you smoke but the ones you wear.. I wonder who made these?
Lattes and Lipstick
Wine stained lips, well at least with fabulous lipstick and gloss
Lip makeup
Silver eyeshadow or eye liner, because its ethereal but add black and it carries a punch...
Eyeliner
Navy, nail polish, it's not quite black but it's just as deep in color and reminiscent of the sea...
Nail polish
Swirling, not my ice cream but in my dating and one of my summer must read books:
Little Known Story Japanese Engaged in Infacide in the Congo
F. Scott Fitzgerald, any and all of his books. I will be reading them this summer.
