Picnic in the Park: 4th of July Edition

30 June 2013
Well, maybe you were but I wasn't. My actual birthday is the reverse of those numbers, but I do know a few people and entities who were born on this day, and one happens to be the fantastic U.S.A. Oh the days filled with barbecue, roasted corn, potato salad, pecan pie, fireworks, ice cream floats and watermelon. Who couldn't love what this day represents? And the various fun ways we can show our pride by wearing red, white, and blue on our clothes? So here's some fun ways to get dolled up for one of the hottest days in summer.

What I am Into Right Now

26 June 2013
I know it has been a minute since I have last post. I have to say I am on the home stretch before leaving Korea and I think I am suffering from a bit of senioritis. No, seriously.

Ok truth be told, I have been working feverishly on my Pre-Fall Collection, Femme Fatale. It is a glimpse into what I am planning for Fall. And it is fabulous. But before I get into that, I wanted to share some of the fun stuff that I have run across on the net. More like some things I am drooling over.

First of all, I am obsessed with Sole Society Shoes. And they always have great items on their sites. Their Selma shoe is a updated throwback to the 1920s and 30s style shoes. They come in two great colors... Monaco Blue Sapphire and Beet Black.

Blue is such a fabulous color, no matter the shade and I am digging it so much that I have been drooling over the Brusly bag from Shoe Dazzle, which is another obsession of mine. The studs on this bag gives this classic look a bit of edge.

These fun colors from Essie Neons 2013 Collection continues that blue and 'red' theme and I look forward to finding some similar colors here in Korea.

And without further ado, here are some of the popular pieces from my Pre-Fall Collection Femme Fatale that are available now at Lilith + McRae.

#Trending: Opposites Attract, Black and White

21 June 2013
I wrote about this cutting edge trend last year and it is still going strong. The black and white trend first found traction in the fashion world in the 1920s. They made a comeback in the futuristic 60's and the self-indulgent 80s. Now, they are making their rounds again, and I have a feeling they will be around a while.   These opposite colors have a way of softening and balancing each other. They are fresh, classic yet trendy and definitely a great way to liven up you closet. Who says opposites don't attract? In this case, you may attract many things when you are pairing these two colors, especially attention.   Here are a few ways you can pair black and white without breaking the bank.

Tuxedo Stripes

Try pairing white tuxedo pants with a dot top to make the pairing more flirty instead of dressy. Add a few statement jewelry pieces and this graphic print purse for a fashion forward ensemble.

Check Mate

A checkered pattern can be very flattering on all body types if worn correctly. Make sure you cinch in the waist with a medium sized belt and add these cute flats to bring the outfit together. Add a pop of color with your accessories and bouffant your hair to channel your 60s siren. :)

Don't Baroque It!

Wearing the Baroque print can be tricky, but if you do it with a mirrored print where the print slides into a 'V' in the middle, it can be very slimming on all figures. Add some chunky heels and a bit of green and you are office appropriate and cocktails ready.

Leatherette
Aww, what girl doesn't like the look of leather? Most of the time, we migrate to the black leather but soften your leather look up by pairing this white faux leather bomber jacket with this flirty black faux leather skirt. Add a few statement accessories and rock it out wherever you go.
